A problem we solved

Healthcare industry visual

The problem, solved

A regional health network couldn't produce a longitudinal patient view across clinical and operational systems. We built a master patient index and interoperability layer that cut outcome-reporting time threefold.

The challenge

Clinical, operational, and payer data lived in separate systems with inconsistent identifiers, making it difficult to get a longitudinal view of patient outcomes without manual, error-prone reconciliation.

How we transformed it

Karsient built a governed Lakehouse with a master patient index and interoperability pipelines (HL7/FHIR-aware ingestion), unifying clinical and operational data under role-based access controls aligned to HIPAA and equivalent regional requirements.

Benefits

What the business gained

A longitudinal patient view across clinical and operational systems

Interoperability pipelines that reduce manual reconciliation

Governance and access controls built in from day one

Faster, more consistent outcome and quality reporting

What's next

Where this is heading

The interoperability layer built for reporting is now the foundation for predictive readmission-risk models, extending the same governed data pipeline into a new clinical use case without a platform rebuild.
